Halloween Festival, Downtown

We take Halloween seriously in Brevard. We are in Transylvania County after all! This is a truly family friendly festival with a costume contest, bouncy houses, and a pumpkin roll down Courthouse Hill. Last years’ event had some fun surprises including a flash mob dancing to Micheal Jackson’s Thriller. Surely, there will be some creative surprises this year as well.

Insider’s Tip: the best trick or treating can be found on Maple and Park Streets downtown.

Twilight Tour, Downtown

Come downtown at twilight and enjoy the strolling carolers and horse drawn sleighs. Luminaries will light your way as you take the opportunity to do all your Christmas shopping. Assault on the Carolinas, Bicycle Road Race

Every April

The Annual Assault on the Carolinas offers riders three thrilling options; 100K, 60K and a 40K. All the races start and end in lovely downtown Brevard. Each race includes winding roads with steep grades into the mountains and fun descents into the valley. In addition to the racing action the event always includes live music and street vendors.

White Squirrel Festival, Downtown

Every Memorial Day Weekend

LOCAL FAVORITE! The White Squirrel Festival offers tremendous fun for all ages. This two day festival includes numerous live music venues, an outdoor beer garden, arts and crafts vendors, and our version of a soap box derby lovingly called the Squirrel Box Derby. The event was born out of a desire to bring people together after the awful events on 9-11 and has grown substantially in size and attendance with each year. The festival opens with a parade and also includes a 5k/10k foot race.

Fourth of July Celebration

Every July 4, 9am to 5pm Downtown. Fireworks at 9:30 at Brevard College

Experience a true slice of Americana at this fun packed day long festival culminating in a fireworks display. The day long activities include a 5k/10k foot race, live music, a classic automobile show, fine arts and crafts, pet show, and a children’s bike parade. Brevard’s commitment to country is highly visible throughout the neighborhoods with flags and red, white, and blue on every street.

Brevard Music Center Festival and Events

Every summer! June – August

GLOBAL FAVORITE! Each year the world renowned Brevard Music Center opens its doors to the public to offer the musical stylings of the best new musicians as well as some international sensations. During the summer the Music Center will host over 80 concerts with easily 30,000 people having an opportunity to partake in the experience.

Mountain Song Festival

Every September

Another BIG local favorite! This two day music festival is held at the world-renowned Brevard Music Center. Listen to the music of the HOST Steep Canyon Rangers and many other world renowned acts. A fantastic combination of folk, fiddle, and fun music. The venue offers covered seating and lawn seating. You’ll be thrilled by the food vendors as well. Tickets sell out quickly!
