Marco Trattoria, 204 West Main Street, Downtown
A passion for food and family define this family owned Italian-inspired restaurant which offers a full lunch and dinner menu of delectable delights. The wine list is possibly the best in town.
Chef Marc Dambax’s superior skill is reflected throughout this renovated house turned restaurant. Over the last fifteen years, Chef Marc has honed this skill having owned three highly successful restaurants. The first, the Market East Bistro in Charleston, South Carolina. The call of the mountains and quality of life lured Chef Marc, his lovely artist wife, and their two children to Brevard. They tried to leave once – a year in France, Marc’s first home – but it didn’t stick and we are so much luckier for it!
Within the restaurant’s walls and the outdoor garden seating, you will find something to love. There is so much to chose from – the food is phenomenal, the staff are attentive, and the art is inspiring.
Marco Trattoria is a short four block walk from Main & Broad past the Co-ed Theater. We suggest trying a wood-oven pizza for lunch and the beef tenderloin or scallops for dinner. Not only is the food a piece of art, the walls are adorned with art created by Marc’s wife, Shellie, who has also made most of the serving dishes. Her art can also be found in the Red Wolf Gallery.
This week’s specials are sure to please, so come on in and enjoy! In this humble reviewer’s opinion, I would select something from the “Specials” menu. I enjoyed the scallop special so much I nearly licked the bowl. Parents, do not fret, even picky eaters will find something to love. If you would like to see my review of a wine dinner at Marco Trattoria check the April entry of the blog.
