Brevard College, established in 1853, is the oldest college of university in Western North Carolina. Brevard College is a four-year private, coeducational, comprehensive liberal arts college; affiliated with the Western North Carolina Conference of The United Methodist Church. The 150-acre campus is located in downtown Brevard. From nearly every location on the campus you’ll find a view of the mountains. Brevard College offers the following ‘2012 Open Campus’ days for prospective students; Friday April 6, Friday April 13, and Monday April 23.

Brevard College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award baccalaureate degrees. The University Senate of the United Methodist Church accredits Brevard College to award degrees at the baccalaureate level, and Brevard College is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Music and the Teacher Education Accrediting Council.

Blue Ridge Community College

Blue Ridge Community College is a two-year, comprehensive post-secondary institution. Its service area includes Henderson and Transylvania Counties which are located in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Western North Carolina. Blue Ridge:

– Offers more than 95 programs of study that include associate degrees, diplomas and certificates.
– Offers a wide range of college transfer courses.
– Has articulation programs with four-year colleges and universities.
– Provides one of the largest Continuing Education programs in the state.

Students successfully graduating from Blue Ridge are eligible to transfer into any of North Carolina’s 18 public colleges and universities.
