Biking, Hiking, and Beer – you’ll find it here. The Hub at Backcountry Outdoors is conveniently located just outside Pisgah National Forest and offers bike rental, bike repair, hiking gear, and, you guessed it, cold beer. So, come to the store, get outfitted, rent a bike, take an adventure, and when your day is done, join other adventurers for a pint of local beer.

The Hub is only 10 miles to beautiful cross country single track trails of DuPont State Recreational Forest and, just 16 miles to the Asheville Regional Airport. You can park in our parking to access many epic rides  in Pisgah like Black Mountain and Avery Creek via the Eastatoe Trail or take the scenic bike path to enjoy a beautiful afternoon in historic downtown Brevard.  Enjoy the many waterfalls of Transylvania County on your way up to the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Who We Are
Sam and Jordan Salman are the proprietors of The Hub and Backcountry Outdoors. Both Sam and Jordan are Brevard College Graduates, and always dreamed of making Brevard their home. Having spent half their lives attending and working at local summer camps, Pisgah National Forest was already a second home. When the opportunity came about to buy and expand the bike shop located in Backcoutry Outdoors, Sam and Jordan began digging in the couches and floorboards of their cars. The banks were not excited about a young married couple asking for money to buy a bike shop. After months of digging holes, the light at the end of the tunnel shined through with The Hub at Backcountry Outdoors.

With great community support, the bike shop grew and gained speed. Eventually, Harvey and Cheri Rosenblatt passed the torch of Backcountry Outdoors to Sam and Jordan. With the help of outdoor expert, Davis Crain, and Bike Guru, Jimi Megonnel The Hub and Backcountry Outdoors joined forces and became the epicenter for adventure gear and clothing. Soon after, Bicycling Magazine recognized The Hub as a Top 100 Bike shop in the USA. Currently, the shop has some great plans on the horizon, so be on the lookout this spring and summer for some great additions!
